Calibration & Accreditation

It is recommended that all equipment be calibrated and maintained to ensure that it is providing the service necessary for a competent scene or laboratory investigation.

ISO 17020 (laboratory) and ISO 17025 (crime scene) effectively require a complete history of each piece of equipment. This should start with details of the checks and calibrations carried out before the equipment is placed in service and continue with a detailed record of all calibrations, repairs, routine maintenance and performance checks.
